WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE DEEP RESURFACING TREATMENT. The treatment involves the application of the Contour TRL™ laser handpiece to your skin. While some patients may experience mild discomfort during the procedure, it is generally well-tolerated due to application of topical or injectable anesthetic. We offer other options for comfort if needed, you can discuss with Dr.Voge during your consult. Immediately after the procedure mild to moderate bleeding is common. This may persist for 24-28 hours depending on the depth of your treatment. Redness and swelling are very common after the procedure and usually persists for 7-10 days. The healing time will depend on factors such as treatment depth and post-treatment care. Healing time may also vary between individuals. As a general rule of thumb, the deeper the treatment, the longer the healing time, but the more dramatic the results. Dr. Voge can provide realistic expectations of downtime based on your specific treatment plan.
The most important thing to do is to minimize sun exposure as much as possible. Avoid the sun when you can, and make sure you keep covered with hats and broad-spectrum SPF of at least 30 any time you are outdoors.
Sciton Contour TRL™ is a powerful laser and usually reserved for patients with moderate to severe signs of aging.
